HorizonLink
Mission
HorizonLink’s mission is to design, construct, and operate a high fidelity multi-role Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS). Providing an immediate aerial operations solution to link remote or distanced communities beyond the horizon.
The challenge
Colombia has thousands of poorly connected, remote, and isolated small towns and settlements. Many of these not even accesible by land, making supply runs and deliveries of life-saving medicine an arduous and unreliable endeavor. The status quo forces a choice between inefficient stockpiling leading to significant medical waste or the use of helicopters, which are cost-prohibitive and often unavailable. By using the power of UAVs, these communities can receive supplies on-demand instead of incurring the inefficiencies of stockpiling or not receiving them at all. Ensuring that geography is no longer a barrier to the outside world.
The solution
HorizonLink provides a multi-role Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) to bridge the logistics gap for placed served uncomfortably by traditional methods of transport. Our solution transforms arduous six-hour ground journeys into 30-minute on-demand flights, delivering essential supplies without requiring specialized destination infrastructure. Beyond logistics, the UAS serves as a high-fidelity aerial platform for Earth observation and Search and Rescue (SAR) operations. By replacing cost-prohibitive helicopter missions with autonomous technology, we provide a scalable, immediate solution for remote regions that are currently unreachable or unreliably served by traditional transport methods.
