CellaCure Technologies
Mission
To deliver fast, customizable, and modular 3D printers that allow hospitals and researchers to instantly translate clinical data (e.g. MRI and CT scans) into patient-specific soft-tissue models, without the need for expensive outsourcing or risky hardware engineering. We aim to eradicate preventable surgical complications by ensuring every surgeon can master complex robotic and manual surgery on accurate organ phantoms before they ever step into the operating room, building the confidence needed to deliver the best possible care and protect every patient.
The challenge
Up to 400,000 adverse surgical outcomes are entirely preventable every year. Currently, 25% to 50% of malpractice cases stem from surgical errors, largely because surgeons must train on rigid, unrealistic plastics. Hospitals want to translate patient MRI scans into realistic soft-tissue phantoms, but current methods fail them. Traditional phantom labs rely on manual molding and casting, which is incredibly slow, unreliable, and cannot produce patient-specific anatomies. Meanwhile, commercial 3D printers cannot process complex medical hydrogels, forcing researchers into a 6-to-8-month "DIY" hardware nightmare that wastes up to €20,000 per project. This massive bottleneck drains budgets and keeps life-saving training tools out of the operating room, leaving surgeons underprepared and patients at risk.
The solution
CellaCure Technologies bridges this gap by delivering highly customizable, modular 3D printers configured to a lab’s/hospital's exact anatomical and material requirements. We eliminate the engineering guesswork by utilizing our in-house expertise to supply the precise components needed. Depending on their capacity, research groups and hospitals receive either a curated assembly kit or a fully validated system. We aim to turn a 6-month DIY hardware struggle into a seamless plug-and-play solution, making it possible to instantly print patient-specific organ phantoms and bring safer training to the operating room. We generate revenue through a hybrid model. We sell custom, modular hardware priced between €40,000 and €80,000, a sweet spot that fits perfectly into standard hospital equipment grants, while vastly undercutting €100k+ proprietary systems. Once the hardware is installed, we secure recurring revenue through the ongoing sale of specialized hydrogels and localized technical support contracts. We are launching in the DACH and Benelux regions to guarantee rapid shipping and flawless customer service, ultimately turning hardware sales into long-term hospital partnerships.
