The Curiosity Contest
Mission
Connecting students from all studies with the space industry through space-themed competitions.
The challenge
The Dutch space industry is growing, and there is an increasing need for students, especially those from diverse academic backgrounds. Many students from those non-space disciplines are interested in working in the space sector and have ideas to improve the industry, but they do not know how to come in contact with it. There is currently a disconnect between the space industry and these students. They struggle to find each other, and we want to bridge the gap through our organization, The Curiosity Contest, by hosting a competition and fair that brings these two groups together.
The solution
Our contest! The Curiosity Contest is a contest for students, challenging them to show new ideas and innovations for the space-industry. Each year has a leading theme with set contest criteria. Teams of three to six members can join the contest in one of three categories with a starting concept. The teams will work on their concepts and designs for half a year. To help them further, we will organize some workshops and feedback sessions by space companies and professionals. This creates a chance for the students to get to know the space-industry and to connect with fellow enthusiasts.
